Organic Farm & Hydroponic Greenhouse Tour with Vermont Food & Farm Tours
Get the insider view of a commercial certified organic farm with nationally recognized green living expert, Amy Todisco, who also lives and works on the organic farm.
Start with a cup of healing organic tea. We'll chat a bit and get to know each other, and what you really want to learn on the farm. We love to customize the tour/workshop for the folks that show up. No canned presentation here. Try a couple of activities designed to tune you into nature more profoundly. Then you'll get the insider view of a commercial certified organic farm. How do you grow fruits and vegetables organically? Why is it better? Do the vegetables and fruits taste different? You decide. Pluck a pea, snap off a green bean, taste a cherry tomato. Take a look at hour home garden for inspiration (much smaller scale and circular.) We'll also visit our sister farm-a hydroponic (grown in water) year round greenhouse that will dazzle your eyes and blow your mind. Pet our horses, feed them a carrot, and learn about how to communicate with horses in terms that they understand. Harvest some fresh veggies. Taste them juiced. Why is juicing good for you? Share a delicious and nutritious organic lunch. Come with your curiosity and questions. Two hours and includes organic lunch..
